- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 0 tsp black pepper
- 0 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, and tomato paste. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, and black beans. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne if using. Simmer another 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings or sides.
Notes
- This chili can be served with cheese, sour cream, or green onions as toppings for added flavor.
- Leftover chili can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
