Description

A delicious and creamy lasagna recipe that layers flavorful meat sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese, perfect for a family dinner.

  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook Meat Mixture: In a medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, sautéing until translucent. Add ground beef or sausage, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add Sauce and Seasoning: Mix in marinara sauce, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, the Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix well until smooth.
  6. Assemble Lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Place a layer of noodles on top. Spread a layer of the cheese mixture, followed by meat sauce. Repeat layers, ending with noodles and meat sauce.
  7. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Bake: Cover with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Cool and Serve: Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
