Description

A delicious and creamy cheesy hash brown casserole that is perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen hash brown potatoes (thawed)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (plus 2 tablespoons for topping)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes or Ritz crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup melted butter, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Fold in thawed hash browns until evenly coated.
  4. Spread mixture into prepared baking dish.
  5. Mix crushed cornflakes or Ritz crackers with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Sprinkle over top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let rest a few minutes before serving.
