Description

A delicious cheesy bread filled with spinach and artichokes, perfect for gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round loaf of sourdough bread
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup canned or jarred artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Bread: Using a serrated knife, crosshatch the bread without cutting all the way through the bottom to create pull-apart pieces.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
    • Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat.
    • In a bowl, combine the sautéed spinach, artichoke hearts, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  4. Fill the Bread: Carefully spoon the spinach-artichoke mixture in between the bread’s cuts. Use your fingers to stuff it deeply within the slits, ensuring even distribution.
  5. Top the Bread: Drizzle melted butter over the top of the bread. Sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese if desired.
  6. Bake: Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil, keeping it slightly open on top to allow for cheese melting. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is crisp.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm and enjoy pulling apart the deliciously cheesy segments.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature to blend smoothly with other ingredients.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese, such as cheddar or gouda, for a varied taste.
  • Serve with a side of warmed marinara sauce for dipping.
