Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 sheets lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt – to taste
  • black pepper – to taste
  • fresh parsley – for garnish
  • 1/2 cup sour cream, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Noodles:
    – In a large pot, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Creamy Mixture:
    – In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. Layer the Lasagna:
    – Spread a thin layer of the creamy mixture on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
    – Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the creamy mixture.
    – Spread more creamy mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of shredded cheddar cheese.
    – Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
  5. Add Parmesan Cheese:
    – Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the final cheese layer.
  6. Bake the Lasagna:
    – Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
    – Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    – Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
    – Top with sour cream and fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the creamy mixture.
  • Use freshly grated cheese for the best melting quality.
  • Let the lasagna rest for at least 10 minutes before cutting to allow the layers to set.
  • Experiment with adding cooked vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
