Description

Delicious and crispy tofu tacos loaded with fresh vegetables and topped with a tangy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 8 pieces Corn Tortillas
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Cilantro
  • 1 whole Avocado
  • 2 pieces Lime Wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Drain and press the firm tofu to eliminate excess moisture. Cut into small cubes or strips.
  2. Season the Tofu: Toss the tofu with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until coated.
  3. Cook the Tofu: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the tofu until golden brown, about 10–15 minutes.
  4. Warm the Tortillas: Warm corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  5. Prepare the Sauce: Mix vegan sour cream or yogurt with lime juice and hot sauce in a small bowl.
  6. Assemble the Tacos: Place crispy tofu in each tortilla and top with cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, and avocado.
  7. Drizzle the Sauce: Add the sauce over the assembled tacos for extra flavor.
  8. Serve with Lime: Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos before serving.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, omit cumin.
  • Substitute avocado oil for olive oil if desired.
  • Fresh garlic can be used instead of garlic powder.
  • Parsley can serve as a substitute for cilantro.
