- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 8 pieces Corn Tortillas
- 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
- 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
- 1/4 cup Chopped Cilantro
- 1 whole Avocado
- 2 pieces Lime Wedges
Instructions
- Prepare the Tofu: Drain and press the firm tofu to eliminate excess moisture. Cut into small cubes or strips.
- Season the Tofu: Toss the tofu with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until coated.
- Cook the Tofu: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the tofu until golden brown, about 10–15 minutes.
- Warm the Tortillas: Warm corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
- Prepare the Sauce: Mix vegan sour cream or yogurt with lime juice and hot sauce in a small bowl.
- Assemble the Tacos: Place crispy tofu in each tortilla and top with cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, and avocado.
- Drizzle the Sauce: Add the sauce over the assembled tacos for extra flavor.
- Serve with Lime: Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos before serving.
Notes
- For a milder flavor, omit cumin.
- Substitute avocado oil for olive oil if desired.
- Fresh garlic can be used instead of garlic powder.
- Parsley can serve as a substitute for cilantro.
