Description

Deliciously soft and sweet heart-shaped cookies that are perfect for decorating!


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 34 tbsp milk (whole recommended, for icing)
  • Food coloring (optional, for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick. Cut out hearts with a cookie cutter.
  7. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Let cool completely before decorating with icing.
