Description
Delicious and healthy ground chicken patties flavored with apple and herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- ¼ cup grated apple (I grate mine with a box grater)
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp dried parsley (or dried sage)
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil (or avocado oil)
Instructions
- Grate the apple until you have ¼ cup. Add the ground chicken, seasonings, apple, and pure maple syrup to a large bowl. Mix to combine. You can do this with your hands or a wooden spoon.
- Divide the chicken into equal sized pieces and gently form it into patties that are ½ inch to ¾ inch thick. Line them up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to get them ready to cook. You will have 8-10 patties.
- Heat a large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add the olive oil and heat until it shimmers. Add the first batch of chicken patties to the hot skillet in a single layer. Be sure not to overcrowd the pan. You will likely need to cook a second batch. Cook 4-5 minutes on the first side.
- Carefully flip the patties and cook an additional 4-6 minutes on the second side or until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165℉ (75°C). Cook time will vary depending on your pan and stovetop.
Notes
- This recipe can easily be doubled for larger servings.
- Feel free to substitute the ground chicken with turkey for a different flavor.
