Description

This delicious chocolate cake is moist and rich, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for buttering the pan)
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour (to flour the pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Butter and flour a 9 x 13 pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and fine salt until well combined.
  4. Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix with an electric mixer on low just until combined. Raise to medium until smooth and well blended.
  5. Pour in the hot coffee while mixing. The batter will be thin.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool fully in the pan.
  8. Spread with easy chocolate frosting.
