- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced or torn
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 large baguette, sliced into rounds
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- for drizzling balsamic glaze
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preparing the Bruschetta Base:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet.
- Lightly drizzle olive oil over the slices and bake for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove and let cool.
- Preparing the Topping:
- In a bowl, combine halved cherry tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Assembling the Wreath:
- Arrange the toasted baguette slices in a circular wreath shape on a large serving platter.
- Place a slice or piece of mozzarella on each slice of baguette.
- Spoon the tomato-basil mixture evenly over each mozzarella-topped slice.
- Finishing Touches:
- Drizzle balsamic glaze over the entire wreath.
- Garnish with a few additional basil leaves for decoration.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can rub the toasted bread with a cut clove of garlic before adding the toppings.
- Opt for high-quality mozzarella for the best taste and texture.
- If you cannot find balsamic glaze, you can reduce balsamic vinegar over low heat until it’s syrupy.
