Description
Deliciously tender microwaved cauliflower florets with a buttery garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cauliflower florets
- ¼ cup water
- 2½ tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- ½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- If the cauliflower florets are very large, cut them into smaller florets before you measure them.
- Place the cauliflower florets in a large microwave-safe bowl. Pour the water over the cauliflower. Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate.
- Place the bowl into the microwave and microwave for 3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to stir the cauliflower and then cook for 2 1/2 more minutes. The cauliflower should be tender yet firm, but not mushy.
- Remove the cauliflower from the microwave and remove the plate from the top.
- In a medium bowl, combine the unsalted butter and minced garlic. Microwave until the butter is hot and melted, but not overflowing, about 1 minute.
- Add the kosher salt, oregano, lemon juice, and grated parmesan to the melted butter. Stir to combine.
- Drain any excess liquid from the cauliflower. Add the melted butter mixture and stir to coat. Serve with a sprinkle of grated parmesan and kosher salt.
Notes
- This dish can be served as a side dish with any meal.
- Watch the butter while microwaving to prevent overflow.
