Description

Deliciously tender microwaved cauliflower florets with a buttery garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cauliflower florets
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2½ tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • ½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. If the cauliflower florets are very large, cut them into smaller florets before you measure them.
  2. Place the cauliflower florets in a large microwave-safe bowl. Pour the water over the cauliflower. Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate.
  3. Place the bowl into the microwave and microwave for 3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to stir the cauliflower and then cook for 2 1/2 more minutes. The cauliflower should be tender yet firm, but not mushy.
  4. Remove the cauliflower from the microwave and remove the plate from the top.
  5. In a medium bowl, combine the unsalted butter and minced garlic. Microwave until the butter is hot and melted, but not overflowing, about 1 minute.
  6. Add the kosher salt, oregano, lemon juice, and grated parmesan to the melted butter. Stir to combine.
  7. Drain any excess liquid from the cauliflower. Add the melted butter mixture and stir to coat. Serve with a sprinkle of grated parmesan and kosher salt.
