- 24 slices of pepperoni
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal (for dusting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Place a pizza stone or baking tray inside to heat up.
- Shape and Stuff the Crust:
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 14-inch circle.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly cornmeal-dusted baking sheet.
- Arrange a border of mozzarella cubes around the edge and fold the dough over, pinching to seal and create the stuffed crust.
- Assemble the Pizza:
- Spread pizza sauce over the base, leaving the crust uncovered.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni slices evenly over the cheese.
- Bake:
- Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking tray.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Finishing Touches:
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
- Let the pizza cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
