Description
A delicious Tex-Mex inspired tart filled with seasoned beef, cheese, and ranch dressing, all baked into crispy phyllo shells.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Beef (lean is best for a lighter flavor)
- 1 oz Taco Seasoning (a good quality one makes all the difference)
- 10 oz Diced Tomatoes and Green Chiles (undrained for that essential Tex-Mex tang and slight heat)
- 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese (aged for richer flavor)
- 8 oz Ranch Dressing (a premium brand adds that signature tangy zest)
- 5 packs of 15-count Frozen Phyllo Tart Shells (these offer the perfect flaky, crispy vessel)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Brown your lean ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until it’s no longer pink, then drain any excess fat away.
- Simmer the taco seasoning and undrained diced tomatoes with green chiles into the meat for about 5 minutes.
- Mix the shredded cheddar cheese and ranch dressing in a bowl, then fold in the cooled taco meat mixture.
- Assemble by spooning the filling into each frozen phyllo tart shell.
- Bake on a baking sheet for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding chopped onions and bell peppers to the ground beef while browning.
- Serve with fresh salsa and guacamole on the side.
