- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter Begin by melting the butter and letting it cool slightly. This helps ensure a moist, chewy cookie instead of a cakey one.
- Mix the sugars and butter In a large mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth and glossy. This combination gives the cookies their signature chew.
- Add eggs and vanilla Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. The mixture should be creamy and light in color.
- Combine dry ingredients In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture using a spatula or mixer on low. Be careful not to overmix—just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips Add the chocolate chips and stir until evenly distributed. You’ll notice the dough getting thick and irresistible.
- Chill the dough (optional but recommended) For the chewiest results, cover the dough and chill for at least 1 hour. If you have time, overnight is even better. This helps the flavors meld and prevents excessive spreading.
- Bake Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 9–11 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers still look slightly underbaked.
- Let cool (or not) Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Or, sneak one while it’s warm and melty inside. No judgment here.
