Description
A delicious pizza featuring a rich ricotta base, topped with mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, and turkey ham, finished with fresh arugula.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4–6 slices turkey ham
- Fresh arugula (optional, for topping)
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats. This ensures a perfectly crisp bottom.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll or stretch your pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. If the dough resists stretching, let it rest for 10 minutes, then try again. Place it on a pizza peel, parchment paper, or a baking sheet.
- In a small skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant—don’t let it brown. This garlic-infused oil will become the base layer of flavor.
- Mix the ricotta with a pinch of salt and pepper, then spread it over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Spoon the garlic oil evenly across the ricotta layer.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan over the ricotta. Each cheese adds its own personality—mozzarella brings the melt, provolone the depth, and Parmesan that nutty sharpness.
- Tear the turkey ham into bite-sized pieces and scatter them over the top. As the pizza bakes, they’ll curl slightly and crisp around the edges, adding texture and flavor.
- Transfer the pizza to the hot oven and bake for 10–13 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and, if desired, top with fresh arugula and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Slice and enjoy while warm—the contrast of the hot cheese and cool greens is pure magic.
Notes
- This pizza can be customized with different toppings such as vegetables or different meats.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes to taste.
